I really like Pinot Noir wines and this is a great flavorful red wine that goes well with rich foods. I thoroughly enjoyed this Faiveley 2003 Bourgogne from France. We have previously featured the King Estate Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley and these two are great wines to compare regional differences in Pinot Noir. Both are excellent in my opinion, but the Bourgogne Pinot Noir I would highly recommend for your Thanksgiving or holiday celebration. Like Jill I just couldn’t help craving this wine paired with hearty gravy, turkey, and garlic mashed potatoes. |

If we rated wines on a 5-point scale, this would be a 10! This is a beautiful wine that is sure to impress (at a very reasonable price). Blackberry and cherry flavors mingle with earthy notes in this wine. The fruit flavors, a little acidity and a little heat (alcohol flavor) would go well with a simple steak or salmon dinner, but really makes me crave Thanksgiving stuffing smothered in gravy. You can bet this will be on our Thanksgiving table. |
